Ronald McDonald House Family Room coming to UHNBC

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George will soon be home to a Ronald McDonald House Family Room.

The fast food giant says it will support families across Northern BC by providing a warm, welcome space right inside UHNBC.

It means families will have access to comfort, care and support at no cost, helping to ease the financial and emotional burden that comes with a child’s serious illness

The space will offer:

· A homelike environment for rest, nourishment, and emotional support

· Access for all families with pediatric patients receiving care at the hospital

· Relief for families from rural, remote, or underserved communities facing the cost and logistics of extended hospital stay

McDonald’s says the announcement is all thanks to a partnership between Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon, Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, and locally owned McDonald’s Restaurants.

Last week’s McHappy Day in Prince George raised a record-breaking $103,503.10.
